    The VON SMART© Group Exercise Program offers functional fitness classes to community members 55+ who wish to improve their strength, balance, and flexibility. Exercises can be done sitting or standing, and there are no floor or mat routines. Classes are suitable for active, healthy seniors, as well as those with mobility restrictions, arthritis, osteoporosis, or chronic illness. Emphasis is place on working at an individual pace.

    Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education, 18-week course:
    The CAPCE Program combines the "art" and "science" of Hospice Palliative Care for nurses. The program embeds best practice standards and aligns with the Model to Guide Hospice Palliative Care. CAPCE focuses on the development and role of the nurse as a HPC resource for the interprofessional team in long-term care homes, agencies, hospitals, and communities.

    Hospice Services Orientation

    Supporting those with a palliative diagnosis, a caregiver or a bereaved person requires understanding, empathy, and effective communication. At our Hospice Services Orientation, we cover ethics and our polices/procedures.

    All of our Hospice Services volunteers are required to complete both Orientations 1 & 2.
